About Rev 13

A beast rising up out of the sea (mankind) having 7 heads and 10 horns with 10 crowns on his heads is literal as it was in Daniel.

Rev 13:2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. Rev 9:2,11; 13:1,5,12-15; Eze 26:7; 38:6; Dan 2:39-41; 7:19-26; 8:23-26; 11:40-45; Zech 1:19;

Eze 26:7; For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.
Eze 38:6; Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: [and] many people with thee. (Note: Gomer is mentioned also in Rev 19: before the 2nd and final war against God. Perhaps it is Gomer in both wars)
**Zech 1:19; And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What [be] these? And he answered me, These [are] the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. (Key to conclusion to me)

Nebuchadnezzar’s statue in Daniel represents:
Lion = Babylon
Bear = Media-Persia
Leopard = Greece

The 1st beast of Rev 13:2 is the one who rises up out of the joined forces of the Lion, Bear, Leopard (Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece.)

1st Beast – like a Leopard (Greece), Bear (Persia), Lion (Babylon)
**Because of the verse in Dan I believe Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria are ‘from the north’, not Russia.

The Book of Life
Rev 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Rev 3:5; 13:8; 20:12,15; 21:27; 22:19; Ex 17:14; Ps 69:28; Dan 12:1; Phil 4:3;
Ex 17:14; And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this [for] a memorial in a book, and rehearse [it] in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
Ps 69:28; Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
Dan 12:1; And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Phil 4:3; And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and [with] other my fellowlabourers, whose names [are] in the book of life.

(There are a set of books in heaven. (Note:Hal Lindsey gives quite a good explanation of the books.) There is a book of life with the name of every person who has ever lived or will live, written down. I believe this is so, and that the names are names God has given them. The DNA could easily be the Identifier of every soul. Not a name we would recognize as our name now, but what God has named him.
There is a book of Works, which lists every deed good or bad for each person. Then there are a couple of other books mentioned by Lindsey. Tim LaHaye says he believes there is a ‘Lamb’s Book of Life’ Rev 21:27, which I believe is the book, ‘The Book of Life.’ When a soul determines not to accept Christ as their personal Saviour their name is erased from the Book of Life. That still leaves their names in the book of works, and they are judged from that book.

The Calvanists believe the book of life is the list of who God has chosen to be saved from the beginning of time.I believe, as I have said, it is the name of every person God has created from the beginning of time. Having one’s name erased from that book is spiritual death.

1 Cor 15:24-28; Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. For “He has put all things under His feet.”  But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

(ESV) Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.

  1. Shalom,
    I agree with the information in this post: however, the scriptures say that your name is blotted out of the book of life if you do not come into covenant with the Most High thru the blood of Y’Shua, and not erased. So, I believe that the same blood that justifies you in Y’Shua is the same blood that blots out your name and you are then judged out of the “Books”. Great post.
    Shalom from Brother “B”
